I think Kerry would have been routed by W because he is, in fact, an east coast liberal elitist, and would have lost the south and midwest big time. On the other hand, Edwards doesn't have the experience but does have the southern gentleman style and boyish looks that many women will vote for. I don't think either would beat W, but I'd rather see Kerry on the other side.
