Lighthearted is important. That is why I write my silly little poems. If you become the teeth gnashing flaming right wing extremist, you will not sway the middle to your side. The 15 to 20% in the middle is very important to winning. I use calm and rational means on these people and I do make progress. In Alabama it is almost a waste of time because we tend to vote Republican in Presidential races, but I will not assume that will always be the case. So when I talk to locals I'm just paying insurance premiums.

You know what? I need to take your particular post to heart. Too often, I get so infuriated at folks who embrace leftist thinking ... and I let it show. That does nothing to help the cause of converting them. (Ok, I'm going to the balloon store and buy some helium!!!! :))
