COMEDY CENTRAL Comes Out For Gay Men "Straight Plan For The Gay Man" To Premiere On February 23 At 10:00 P.M. ET/PT

COMEDY CENTRAL's "Straight Plan for the Gay Man" has four straight comedians, the "Flab 4" (Curtis Gwynn, Billy Merritt, Kyle Grooms and Rob Riggle) working with a gay man to achieve his small but important dream of pulling the wool over the straight world's eyes for a day. In the three one-hour episodes, viewers will meet three different gay men and learn about that one thing they've always wanted to check off their life's "to do list."

The gay men include: Jonathan, an upscale fashion salesman who's always wanted to better understand the life of a blue collar worker; Roger, a quirky yoga instructor who has always dreamed of competing in a pick up basketball game; and Stephen, a hip singer/dancer with tons of female friends, who's always wondered if he'd be a smooth straight man when it comes to picking up the ladies.

Over the course of each episode, our "Flab 4" comics take their new gay friend under their wing and give him a crash course on the secrets of straight male life -- a life that inevitably requires uglier clothes, a bare kitchen and a healthy dose of false egotism to cover for all personal failings -- of which there are many. At the end of each episode, the straight comics go undercover alongside their gay subject to see if they too can "pass" their tests: with Jonathan, they attempt to get hired at a meatpacking factory; with Roger, they square off in a competitive NYC street ball game; and with Stephen, the guys go for a night of speed dating.

No, the REAL reason this show got so popular so fast was that they point out things many women WISH they had the guts to say, or that the guys would listen to, if they did.

It seems that because these guys are on TV with the Fab 5, suddenly, when they are told they're growing forests in their noses, and their skin is as rough as sand paper, they decide to listen.

And that exchange is fun to watch.

Reminds me of the time I threw a party and left my underwear hanging on the back of the bathroom door.

from the PR for the show it seems the men weaklings who are being pushed by their girlfriends. sad. Of course this is only based on brief glimpses of the publicity for the show.

I went to the link, and verified it was there, but it still sounds like parody to me. That WAS a Comedy Central website, you know!

I've never seen QEFTSG, but I did see the Jay Leno show where they made him over. It's fun to see people made fun of, and the five gay guys make a lot of fun of themselves, which comedians have done for generations. It's just amusing, and trendy, that's all.

"Sorry you blew good booze onto a good keyboard."

The only downside is Black Velvet is made in Canada. I should feel a little guilty for drinking it in the first place.

On the other hand, not all Canadians are socialists.

Keep in Mind, there could be the "Crab people" behind all of this.

There's a few times they get tooooo much for me, too, but all in all, they seem to work with who the guy generally is to begin with, they really try to help--update his look, his house gets a good cleaning, and organizing--new furniture, and, he MIGHT learn a thing or two...harm???

Besides, no one is asking some of these self professed, MANLY men on this thread to watch it, either.

They aren't in the mood to learn ANYthing, because they know it all already.

Riiiiiiiight

I got it this time. Any man that runs to a butt pirate at the behest of a girlfriend to learn how to act is not a real man. I agree with that.

These qg's may do a passable job of channeling mama, but it's glorifying queerness.

I was looking to buy the new Norah Jones CD today, and I went to the website of the store where I bought the first one. There, prominently advertised, was a soundtrack of the very program we are disgusted, er, I mean, discussing here. I went to Best Buy instead.

Who cares? It's a fad and will be gone in a year.

First, it's a quirk. Second, it's a curiosity. Third, it's forgotten.

Just don't bend over in the shower to pick up the soap or you might learn two or three things.
