Good for you for writing that up.

I'd pounce with a quick uppercut in the first sentence by deleting the first part, "There has been much in the news recently about the military records of President Bush, and his likely opponent," and start with "Michael Moore," etc.

Might add "demoralization" here: "prolonging the captivity and demoralization of our POW’s."

I especially like the "bottom line" paragraph.
