must have been ... I've got some great shots ... was about 50 feet back from the runway when the number 5 or 6 plane made a hard right bank around a hangar to my left and laid on the throttles about 30 feet off the ground ... I remember being astounded when the plane silently went by ... and then the roar ... freaky the first time you experience it ... went back to the same spot the next day (Sunday) and experienced it again ... too cool ...
I don't remember if the Thunderbirds were the next year or not ... but I saw the angels again ... beautiful photos ... also shot a nice F-4 from Happy Hooligans I think it was ...
how's your -16 ride coming? ... did that foot heal?
To: Bobby777
Had to give up the reserve slot. I'm up in Everett, WA learning about the 777. Foot is fine, but someone else was ready before me.

you gonna fly the new big one? ... hope so, that would be too cool ... I'm sure you'll get another shot at some reserve bird sometime in the future ...
To: Bobby777
I'm already flying it. Had two checks already. Nothing great, just pushin buttons. Right now, I just get to do only what the computers let me. I'm done as far as the reserves go. I'm having too much fun.

well the great thing is you're still flying and you're in the latest bird it sounds like ... you'll have to post a pic of your ride ...
hope you still have something with an F- designation again some day ... I was hoping in a few years, if I had a chance, to go fer a backseat ride ...

FWIW, ferrying range on an F/A-18A is ~2,300 miles.
