Very brave of him.

Indeed. Dr. Bob's reports were a ray of sunshine on MSNBC, which is an otherwise miserable network. But more than bravery, Dr. Bob is demonstrating leadership to the rest of us. We do not live in times in which it is OK to sit on the political fence. This is a fight for our very survival, both as individuals and as a nation. We simply cannot afford to let another 60's era radical become president of the United States at this critical time.

I don't care what "flavor" of conservative or Republican a person considers him or herself to be. None of that matters now. What matters above all else is whether or not we who profess to be on the right side of the politial divide in this country are going to stand up, en masse, and block the left from getting it's hands on power at least over the next four years.

It's not Dr. Bob's guts and dedication that are in question. It's ours.

I know friends in Canada and they seem surprised that I supported the war. With coverage like that I understand why they think that.

Bob Arnot, the medical doctor turned foreign correspondent for MSNBC and NBC News—has been conspicuously absent from TV lately. Dr. Arnot’s contract...won’t be renewed in the foreseeable future.

....Although personal, his departure has also exposed the divides over TV coverage of the war in Iraq.

In a 1,300-word e-mail to NBC News president Neal Shapiro, written in December 2003 and obtained by NYTV, Dr. Arnot called NBC News’ coverage of Iraq biased.

"NBC Nightly News routinely takes the stories that I shoot and uses the footage, even to lead the broadcast," but "refuses to allow the story to be told by the reporter on the scene."

Dr. Arnot did not leave willingly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dr. Bob Arnot on the roof of the Palestine hotel... just spoke with a US Intelligence officer. He asked him about the firefight/sniper action last night. Turns out the guys they took into custody were NOT the shooters, they just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
...Then Dr. Bob did his on-air report: The locals say this is definitely NOT Beruit - they are sick of war, and they are looking forward to starting over and moving forward.
Much of the rest of his report was upbeat....
Holy cow... after giving a really positive report and signing off, he said to the guy off camera (who I assume was the same Intelligence officer)... "What did you think?" The guy says it was good, and Bob says "I think I wasn't pro-Marine enough."
We love you Dr. Bob!!
Dr. Bob, meet Bernard Goldberg.
My thought exactly. Maybe they should co-author a book.
It is a historic mission and President Bush is going to be one of the Major Presidents.
See this:
George W. Bush -- grand strategist
______________________________________________________________________________________________
The Boston Globe -- the respected, liberal newspaper owned by the New York Times -- ran an article last week that Bush critics might wish to read carefully. It is a report on a new book that argues that President Bush has developed and is ably implementing only the third American grand strategy in our history.
The author of this book, "Surprise, Security, and the American Experience" (Harvard Press), which is to be released in March, is John Lewis Gaddis, the Robert A. Lovett professor of military and naval history at Yale University. The Boston Globe describes Professor Gaddis as "the dean of Cold War studies and one of the nation's most eminent diplomatic historians." In other words, this is not some put up job by an obscure right-wing author. This comes from the pinnacle of the liberal Ivy League academic establishment.
If you hate George W. Bush, you will hate this Boston Globe story, because it makes a strong case that George Bush stands in a select category with Presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt and James Monroe (as guided by his secretary of state, John Q. Adams) in implementing one of the only three grand strategies of American foreign policy in our two-century history.
See link for the rest of the story.......
Thanks, Ernest.
I have never liked the analogy where people refer to Bush as Reaganesque. I think Bush is in a class by himself. History will remember him much more kindly than we realize, today.
And lastly I believe there is a reason why GWBush is the president at this time in history. Call it fate, or providence, whichever you like. :)
I don't think Fox will pick him up....something bad is happening at Fox. Only Brit, Sean, Neil, David Asman, Brian Kilmeade, and Steve Doocy are worth one second of watching anymore. ALL...ALL of their reporters SUCK. I watch 1/100 of what I used to watch.
Yes! I tried to find SoldiersGirl's report on Dr. Bob helping the Iraqi civilians when they came under fire near the bridge, remember that? Wonderful, and brave - our troops, Dr. Bob.
FoxNews shouldn't let him get away. (^:
