I had MSNBC on and saw the reporters' faces.

Yep. Had me looking around for a baseball bat to bash David Gregory's face in.

I actually opened a window to e-mail Ms.NBC before I thought better of it.

They truly remind me of a pack of sharks in the water looking for blood--or creating it themselves when they can't find it.

McClellan really sucked today. But get this, I caught the after-analysis by two nobody anchors on MSNBC. Their conclusion:

Guy: 'By releasing the records Bush and the WH had now confused the issue, making it all the more important for further questions to be asked.'

Girl: 'It has spun so out of control that it has now become a serious issue.'

Please everyone - voice your feelings to the networks. Please. The honestly feel that the average American approves of this kind of behavior by the press. Let them know otherwise. I beg you all.

WHEN WILL THE WHITE HOUSE GET A CLUE AND FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS INTELLIGENTLY?

They need to do it soon! McClellan spent *twenty* minutes saying the same thing over and over and making the same claim repeatedly doesn't improve legitimacy. It was a terrible performance.

This is why I LOVE Rumsfeld! You'll never see him allow the press to abuse him like that.

I am outraged at this blatent leftwing attack on the President. The media is in full smear mode. Even when given evidence to the contrary they are still for blood.

The good news is that he didn't try to make something up.

Hopefully, they will research this and come up with the right answer.

We each need to send them an email. It's a CATEGORY of evaluation: NOT OBSERVED (in other words - we didn't watch him for purposes of evaluation; in this reason, as you say, because he was on such a status as to preclude their "observing" him.)

I can NEVER recall any other briefing where a press secretary was subjected to that kind of treatment for revealing POSITIVE information.

It is so telling that I fully agree with you....I'm sick to my stomach.

It's much better that this is blowing up in the press now rather than 6 months down the road. It is enough of a non-issue that the vervor of the press will die because the public is not interested. They're looking for a blue dress so they can say Bush lied. I suspect Bush did some evasion but he didn't lie. There's more of a document from the Colorado ARF that implies Bush was relieved from certain duty as a disciplinary action (possibly for failing to show for a physical). The press is not going there yet.

I'm not much exercised over this because it is a big nothing and in the end will have no effect on the election as evidenced by Clinton, a certified draft dodger, beating two World War 2 vets.

In fact, since the dims drew first blood, the Presidents surrogates are free to attack Vietnam Vet John Kerry's part in sterotyping our fellow soldiers as rapist, murdering, torturing whackjobs worthy of being spit on.

In short, I'm glad he "brought it on".

Get in line!

I'd be losing Gregory's invitation to the next White House Press Corp function, if I were on the Bush Staff.

The issue has been given far too much importance and therefore, so will the American people. The press will continue to feed off this as long as the WH provides fodder. I hope they stop it and move on. But the WH has now established a forum for debating this non-issue and turned it into an issue. The documents should have been distributed with written explanations and instructions on who to contact for more details without comment from McClellan.

He was not relieved from duty.

He was taken off of flight status. When one goes to a desk job one can retain flight status by requesting it and by keeping up certain standards: one of which is a physical.

It's a matter of personal choice because most folks assigned to a desk job are never permitted to fly because flying hours are so expensive and are reserved for those who are the actual pilots at that time.

Some will let the physicals and all lapse because it is a matter of choice. If they are then put back in a pilot slot, they simply need to renew their physicals, evaluations, etc.

The White House clearly needs to get a knowledgeable military person to start dumping info into McClellan's ear.
