[history]
President Bush received credit for attending Air National Guard drills in the fall of 1972 and spring of 1973 -- a period when his commanders have said he did not appear for duty at bases in Montgomery, Ala., and Houston -- according to two new documents obtained by the Globe.

We are in a freaking "WAR", there are people all around this world seeking to destroy us and you are worried about "DRUGS". I am worried about rights. If the government keeps eroding our rights and turning America more and more into a police state, this country won't even be worth protecting anymore.

"RIGHTS" I know it must be horrible for the users out there to see "sodomy" become a "civil right", and not their "DOPE".
Evolution of the constitution took a crazy turn there to have the "USERS" of this nation get overlooked. People do not have to use "illegal" substances just go get a prescription. Legally they that government you claim taking your rights away put our kids on "DRUGS", go do it the legal way.
That would put an end to the WOD.

The question is drug use since that is the year they instituted drug testing, coupled with rumors of drug use plus lack of denial of such. Not that I care one bit if he took drugs in the 70s, that would normally be none of my business. However, it would show him to be a hypocrite in supporting the WoD, and as a voter that is my business. 298 posted on 02/11/2004 4:44:00 AM PST by antiRepublicrat
Oh, now I see where you are coming from.
You start with a conjecture (Bush used drugs) and support that by lack of denial (he never said he didn't) and support it with more conjecture about why an event did not occur (you think he missed his physical to hide your conjecture) and use all that to state that IF it happened according to your conjecture, THEN the President is a hypocrite because of actions taken by the feds against present day dope sellers, since you opine he MAY HAVE used drugs in the 70s as evidenced by unsourced rumors.... Ooooookkkkaaaaaaaaayyyy..... Pretty flimsy, I'd say. If all those convoluted thoughts would cause you to vote against President Bush in the fall election, go ahead. ;-D

You start with a conjecture (Bush used drugs) and support that by lack of denial (he never said he didn't) Not quite. His answers are always obfuscated and qualified. For example, in response to the question he says essentially "Not in the last seven years" (sometimes spun to 25). It's like the classic Q: "Have you ever been convicted of a crime?" A: "Convicted? No."
This was in the context of being able to pass a background check, either for the last seven years or during the time of his dad's vice presidency. He refuses to answer whether he'd pass the FBI background investigation, which charts drug use back to your 18th birthday.
Add to that exactly why did he do community service?

"RIGHTS" I know it must be horrible for the users out there to see "sodomy" become a "civil right", and not their "DOPE". First, the government has no damn business sticking its nose in whatever you do if you aren't hurting anyone else (tenuous connections to harm rejected). Aside from that, the collateral damage of the WoD has been immense in its impact on our rights. We've seen the 2nd, 4th and 10th Amendments take big hits in the last 30 years because of the WoD, regardless of your stance on drug use.

Oh, YAAAAWWWWWNNNNN!
Those were the talking points in 2000. They didn't get you anywhere then, and they won't now. Be sure to bring it up again, a week or so before the election, like last time. I remember several more that you've left off. I'm sure you'll get around to them.

I have a question for the democrats. I have a diploma from Stanford. If I apply for a job, am I going to have to go back and find all my teachers and have them testify that I did the course work, or will my grade transcript and diploma be sufficient ? What if one of my teachers does not remember me ? For that matter, what if my 2nd grade teacher does not remember me ? Do I have to go back and retake 2nd grade ?
To: CMClay
The question is whether Bush received credit for duty he did not perform, and it remains unanswered. I believe that former Minnesota basketball coach had an assistant do course work for some players. I believe a football program had surrogates attend class for some players too.
Still, when I apply for a job, usually my course transcript and diploma is sufficient proof. Normally, one does not have to go back and find your teachers and classmates to corroborate your transcript. Besides, for some classes, I don't think anyone would have remembered me. I know that some classes I took, I don't remember anyone else or the professor that I took the class from.

Wow . .wait a second, if this is true, it means the todays leaders of the democrat party are willingly and intentionally lieing to themselves and others ?
This confirms what I've long suspected.

What is more honorable, serving in the National Guard and doing so quietly, or serving in Vietnam, then coming home and throwing away medals and protesting the war?
Let's be honest about what Kerrydid to our troops.
Kerry led a capitulation movement in my country.
Deplorable, and unforgivable.

Well you see that is the problem "USERS" have, they do not have the ABILITY to calculate harm.
Now IF it were just themselves they were harming that would be a different case, however, the harm is to others and that walks on MY RIGHTS.
Now if "users" would like I would go for setting aside a million acres wall it off and every drug user in the nation could go there and use whatever they want, but once you make that choice there is no turning back.
Old George Soros who loves users might well purchase the land and take care of you.

For active guard members it is disciplinary because ARF members can theoretically be called up for active duty in the regular military...The Guard can get called up too. I have never heard of this referred to as disciplinary. Pure BS, but it seems to be the latest talking point.

The link I posted shows the actual documents, at best/ Bush got points from the ARF(not TANG) the last 2 years after being disciplined for not taking a physical. You are leaping. You got "disciplined" from today's talking points. Of course, if you read it in an actual doucment, I'd love to see it.
