On the plus side, 10 years ago you couldn't get good Mexican food here, now there are many great Mexican restaurants.

Yeah, but a lot of them are "going native". They're becoming Evangelicals and Pentacostals. They have bumper stickers that say "Yo (heart) Jesus." Of course, I have no way of knowing, just like anybody else, which Hispanics are illegal and which are not, just by looking at them.
I'm glad they changed that DMV rule, though. I don't think an illegal with a driver's license is any "safer" than one without a license. (That was one of the arguments the activists used to try to prevent the rule change. That the highways would be safer if we gave driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.)

10 years ago a lead carpenter on a buidling site could command $13.50-15.00+/hr. around here....thats not much, but now those jobs are held by illegals at $8.00/hr which destroyed the wage rate.
It was the no documentation driver's liscence that brought them all here.
