SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- Barring a successful last-minute appeal, a convicted murderer who has spent 19 years on death row is set to die this week -- California's first execution in two years.
Kevin Cooper, who was convicted in the 1983 hacking deaths of four people and is to be executed at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday at San Quentin Prison, has won support from death penalty opponents including Ruben "Hurricane" Carter, religious leaders and Hollywood actors.

Did this vicious murderer convert to Marxism while waiting on Death Row?
Sure looks like that from the caliber of his "defenders."

This is big cause over at DU. They show how one of the victims had blond hairs in their grasp, and how now some of the original jurors don't want the execution to proceed. I don't know what evidence the prosecution had, but it must have been pretty damning.

I don't know what evidence the prosecution had, but it must have been pretty damning. After the initial trial and guilty verdict, the murderer got an order to test for DNA... The test found: The defendant's DNA at the scene (three different types) and at least one of the victim's DNA in the blood on his shirt. Pretty damning if I do say so myself. According to the lefties - the evidence was planted.

Any update? Is it stayed? When will the 11 panel judge review the evidence? Is this on KFI640 right now? I'm at work without access to the latest.

They should have his defenders spend time alone with him in his cell for a few weeks.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. They demand DNA tests to prove his innocence. When the result is not to their liking, the evidence must have been planted. Disgusting.

Actually, I see three crimes here.
1. The sick puke (good expression) murdered several people in cold blood.
2. He has not been exectued yet, but rather kept alive at taxpayer expense for many years.
3. A**holes are protesting his execution.
