This election can be won by 200,000 votes.

This is a startling revelation...

I'm curious, is there a number of votes that COULD NOT possibly be the margin of victory???

This election can be won by 200,000 votes.

This is a startling revelation...

200,000 votes in states we narrowly won or lost last time could make the difference. This will be a close election, like the last one. The "swing vote", real independents, has declined steadily in the last 6 elections, it is now down to 7% and expected to even be smaller in this year's. Yes, we have become a more polarized society.

The strategy in the past was to capture the swing vote. That alone won't work any more. This year the strategy, for both sides, has to be to get out the vote, or as this article suggest, suppress. This will be a close and dirty fight.
