Republicans have every right to dream. I'll tell you a story. This Republican has dreamt. I dreamed of another Reagan. I dreamed of republican majorities and smaller government. I dreamed of getting government off my back and out of my wallet a little. 4 years ago I lost all that I owned to a house fire. I worked my butt off to clean up from it, got the job of my dreams after pursuing it for years, got my first real home a year ago and with things finally looking up in my life, I'm notified that my job will be outsourced within 18 months and possibly as soon as May. This is due in large part to Nafta.
Now, My government has largely sold me out on my dream. My own party is doing nothing about it and many of you just flat don't care. My employer obviously doesn't care about anything but how much money they can make by selling me out.
I've been hospitalized twice in the last year and have been unable to save anything as a nest egg because of it. I'll be lucky not to lose everything I have. Now. Look at that and consider that every person who's job is outsourced is dealing with the same thing: Being sold out by Government, Employer and political party - all three. You tell me how I'm supposed to stand up for those who won't stand up for me and I'll pass it along to those who are grumbling around me at work and at play. This is a two way street until, apparently, you guys find someone that doesn't matter. I'm not going anywhere. I believe in Republican principles. But if you think there won't be a price to pay, you're right out of your bleatin mind!

My husband was laid off two weeks ago. They can pay a younger worker less money to do the same work. It sucks, but who do I blame? Younger workers?? I have never had this union mentality that a job was ours for life no matter what, that is not the way the world works anymore, nor should it. We all depend on the success of big bad corporate America. Their profits fuel our 401ks and mutual funds.
My government has made some decisions that have disappointed me, but they have made some that have thrilled me. Much like my husband, whom I love very much, I don't always agree with, we work together to be happy more often than not. I would rather work within the party for change, knowing I have the inside track, than scream in vain at Democrats who WILL NEVER LISTEN TO ME!

Believe me, I know where you are speaking from - sorry about how it's been going. But Havoc, this has happened in many industries. In 1998, thousands of jobs in states such as Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Louisiana were lost in the oil industries - whole families were destroyed.
And you know what? The rest of The United States did not care - not as long as they got their good clean air and satisfied environmental wackos. The govermnet has made everyones jobs some sort of special interest. - It is done to divide us.
President Bush is a good man, he does not try to please the polls, rather he tries to do what is best for the USA. Hang in there, things can get better - our voices can be heard, but not if we fall into despair.
If we despair instead of keeping our voices heard (however small we think they are) then the enemy wins.
All the best. Seriously.
