"President Bush is now in a campaign for re-election. He can't always confine himself to the safety of a Brit Hume. Sooner or later he must face the political enemies and realize that the seeker for a second term must defend the first term. The President doesn't have to worry about me; he's got my vote, but for many Americans, especially those independents who will make the difference this November, most of the questions posed today by Russert were fair game and require answers."

Okay, maybe this was a good test case, but based upon what I saw, the media is going to taunt and hammer him, and give the giggolo a free ride. Yes, Bush has to deal with them, but I predict possibly the bloodiest fight in the last 100 years.

best regards, IA

I agree with you that Bush will have a real fight on his hands, but, based on questions I saw from several of the Democrat debates, I hope that Kerry does not get a free ride. After all, much of the media may favor the left, but they love a blood-fest, and will likely contribute to that. Let's see how Kerry does on the Sunday talk show circuit. I don't think they will let him off the hook. But in any case, the President needs to put the gloves on and not run a campaign like his father did.
