"Exodus happened BC 1443." Nah, that date is based on a faulty Egyptian King's List.
Charred wheat grains at Jerico have been discovered just above the Thera ash layer and below the collapsed walls, both dated to 1628BC. (It won't become widly accepted in my life time but it will in yours)

Now, note, I didn't say there was no catastrophe in 1628 BC. I agree with you there was, or in that immed area date wise. Probably it brought down the previous civ and dynasties, in Egypt, and only gradually did the 18th dynasty get on its feet and bring Egypt back to order, one of their first acts c BC 1655 +/- 5; was to enslave the Hebrews who may have even been blamed for it.
But Exodus in 1443 BC is based directly on our Hebrew sources, not upon one scrap of Egyptian chronology.
(Let's not fight, though, you are one of my favorite FReepers! BTW, what makes you think I am YOUNGER than you?)
P.S. Is there any chance of bringing the Thera date down to c ~1450 BC?
