Russert: Did you support the war in Vietnam?
Bush: I did support the goverment and would have gone had my unit been called.
The thing bothering me looking back is that it was a political war. Goes on that point a little more.

Saddam Hussein was dangerous. He had the ability to make weapons, at the very MINIMUM. For the soldiers who are listening:This is excellent speaking directly to the boots on the ground.
David Kay came back and said Iraq was more dangerous that we thought.
And this tops it off. The soldiers are doing what is righteous and Bush has let them know that David Kay after investigatin has arrived at that conclusion.

And .. it was great point he made about Vietnam being a political war and not a war run by military. I liked his explanation of giving the military the goal and allowing them to design a way to accomplish it.
