GWB: The political season is here. I wish that they wouldn't denigrate the Guard. It's fine to go after me, but to denigrate the Guard is wrong.

Actually, it was much more forceful than that! The President said, "I'll tell you WHAT I DON'T LIKE IS PEOPLE COMPARING THE NATIONAL GUARD AS SOMETHING OTHER THAN MILITARY SERVICE". When the President said that, I expected sparks to come out of his eyes .. HE WAS MAD and his voice reflected it. And .. he made a hand gesture, like pointing toward Tim. But .. he never lost his cool. He also remarked that National Guard are currently serving in Iraq.
