"I had to ask him where the money to pay the salaries would come from. He didn't know. So I told him from all of us, via taxes."
I'm a state worker and I know where my salary comes from. Although I disagree with him about his belief that gov't jobs help ail a troubling economy, I do believe that some are necessary... like mine. I work in juvenile corrections.

Hello Dim Russert!!

I didn't know what to expect from earlier comments on this thread...but, IMHO, the President is doing an excellent job.
Very trustworthy with a clear vision.

"just heard the bit where Tim Russert says our approval rating in Europe is dismal. He cited Germany and France. Excuse me, but since when has Europe consisted only of Germany and France?"
good question! What about Poland, Italy, England, etc. etc.
That must be on the second half.
GW just said, "My foreign policy is based on my belief that America has a responsiblity to promote freedom, to free people from the clutches of barbaric people like SH, a responsibility to fight the pandemic of AIDS and to feed the hungry. IT is history's call to America."

Chris Matthews NBC (not his MSNBC show, but his regular Sunday show) is starting. He asks "WHY is George Bush answering questions NOW?"

I am a staunch supporter of President Bush and think one of the reasons I don't think he did a great job, although he did a very good job, is because Russert kept forcing the president to repeat and repeat the same answers.
Another Freeper pointed that out to me and it was a good point. There are only so many ways the president can say why he believes Saddam was a threat.

Sole conservative on Matthews: David Brooks.
The odious Dana Millbank says Bush went on MTP because his aids are afraid he's losing his MoJo.
To: arasina
That smug bas---d, Russert, has one objective, and that is to damage the president.

"That is the very crux of the matter."
Yes it is... I though GW did great, explaining to the people of his unshakable belief of his responsibility to keep America safe in the long term by encouraging freedom and democracy in dangerous parts of the world."
Outstanding first thirty minutes, Mr. President!

".....2) Rove must have been in on the policy decision to introduce the topic of illegal immigrants....." Agreed. However, the responce since that time by 'The Base' has not been quite what I suspect he was expecting.

MY question to Mathews is "Why do you still have a TV show when your ratings are in the pits?" (DNC subsidies?)
To: Peach
Russert kept forcing the president to repeat and repeat the same answers.
But I don't think that made GW look bad in any way. It just made Russert look to me like Russert was wasting time asking the same question over and over.
