Which is exactly what NBC and the President allowed to happen.

I worked in television for 25 years, Stu, 21 of those years for an NBC affiliate. I know something about how it works. President Bush doesn't control what is advertised on NBC during Meet The Press. And if the president, or for that matter any candidate, attempted to determine which commercials aired, that'd be one more thing for the opposition to use in their campaigns against him, because it'd become an issue of free speech.

Advertisers pay for certain time slots within shows. They know the nature of the program during which their ads will air and in fact sometimes use that very thing to their advantage. Commercials are not just arbitrarily dumped into a show without regard to content. Television sales execs would be out of jobs if that were the case.

I'm not sure what you're complaining about in the first place. IMO, you're being pedantic to the point of ridiculousness.

I do not know whether President Bush flew one-third of the way to the aircraft carrier. However, assuming that he did, I am still not aware of any evidence that his suspension from flight status had ever been lifted.

You don't need to tell US what you don't know. You've proving what you don't know could fill the Grand Canyon with every post you make.

Clue: Don't come around FR without being able to BACK UP your own assertions/wild accusations. We HAVE the facts (or we know somebody who does), so don't try to pull that BS on us. We are not here to do YOUR research either; back up your own quotes with FACTS and/or LINKS, or forever be exposed.

You, sir, have arrived at a gun fight with a nail file.

Really? It's common knowledge.

From Gym bar to George Bush

President Bush "enjoyed the heck out of" his 20 minutes at the controls of a Navy S-3B Viking, flying at more than 400 mph across the Pacific, according to the Marquette University graduate who turned the stick over to the president.

Commander John "Skip" Lussier, who left Marquette and The Gym bar in 1985, said he gave Bush the controls shortly after they took off from San Diego on Thursday and let the president return to his days in the Texas Air National Guard. Except for the landing.

"As an Air National Guard pilot, going to the carrier and doing carrier landings was not part of his repertoire," Lussier said.

He said Bush flew in formation and handled the airplane like an "old aviator."

Do you think that it is patriotic to blindly accept assertions without demanding proof?

You have been provided ALL the proof that is needed on this very thread. To further whine that you don't know the facts (and just choose to ignore them) makes you look more and more irrelevant.

You verbally alert the board when you're tired??? We can only hope that you don't notify us in such graphic detail when a bowel movement is imminent.

Try to keep your banter dignified, please. The forum is not a place to play with Dad's computer.

It's common knowledge.

This one doesn't seem to know anything except the DNC talking points.

I watched President Bush's interview with Russert. In his reply, President Bush said that all of his National Guard records have been made public. Let's assume that that is true. Can you refer me to those records that show that he attended National Guard training from May 1, 1972 - October 1, 1973 when he was discharged?

In one of the articles I read it said he actually did volunteer for what was called "Palace Guard" which would have meant a flying tour in Vietnam. But he didn't have enough stick time yet to qualify.

The article goes on to state that W. went to the commander of the 147th on his own just prior to his graduation from college seeking one of the pilot slots.

The commander also noted that he was one of the few willing to donate 13 months of time needed for the basic flight school.

You are correct two about the Convair F-102 and F-106 aircraft being unforgiving. If ever there was an aircraft that was a potential "Widow Maker" these were it.

The F-15's that launched from Otis ANG Base on 9/11 were 5 minutes from catching up to United Flight 93 when the passengers decided to take matters into their own hands.

As I said, you were a lot nicer to it than I would have been all day long; perhaps that's why I have such a nasty reputation around here and you don't? :-)

You say that evidence of President Bush's service has been provided to me again and again and again. Where can I see for myself the evidence(other than your assertion) that he actually attended National Guard training?

huskerco must be reading from the DNC talking points. They are the ONLY ones who seem to bring "patriotism" or lack there of needlessly into the discussion when it wasn't an issue. Disagree with a Dim on National Defense and you're accusing him of being Un-Patriotic or questioning his "patriotism".

I love exposing these guys.

I've seen mixed reviews. I've seen bits on the news programs. I have it on tape, haven't got around to watching it yet.

I know Kerry made comments about it and from what he said he must think Bush scored some hits.

Try Time magazine (they have articles) and there are dozens of blogs that have links (easy enough to find...go to a blogger like Instapundit and look for links).

You state that President Bush came back from Alabama to take his physical with his unit and that he failed it. What is your source for this assertion? When did he take the physical? You also assert that it is VERY hard to maintain your normal physical fitness. What does that mean? When you are in the military, you are required to maintain your fitness. If you do not, you are either derelict or injured. I have not seen any evidence that Lt Bush was injured.

You won't believe it, no matter what evidence we give you. Besides, aren't there websites designed for people like you? Something along the lines of idontbelieveanything.com?

The facts she's refering to are the ones I keep laying in front of your closed eyes. Since when did official military doccuments and direct quotes taken from the people involved become "assertions"?

The only assertions, false though they may be, have been made by you. Taking quotes from magazine articles and saying they were exerpts from an OER? That's lame. Not to mention a lie on your part.

I have given you the facts. Sorry you can't handle the truth.

Incase you need to be told again however...PRESIDENT BUSH WAS NEVER AWOL FROM THE AIR NATIONAL GUARD!!

Are you happy now you chuckle head?
