the Democratic base is more reliable then our base, as you can see here by the number of people voting third party. Without Nader in there, Kerry will get a solid turnout from the Dem base.

He needs to get some coaching or something

Uh huh, sure he does. And clicking other replies you've made I see you describe him as "earnest". Isn't that sweet.

I think you perception either needs tweaking or you need to know you're not fooling everybody.

I do believe that Bush's chosen path of 'solving' the Illegal Immigrant issue is to openly admit defeat and surrender with dishonor. I favor pumping $billions more into active border enforcement and the investigation and punishment of employers hiring the illegals as current law dictates. Also the creation of dedicated courts and related facilities to swiftly deal with what would be an increased number of suspected illegals identified, with immediate deportation of the guilty. Once the jobs provided by unscrupulous American employers dried up, the Illegal flood will stop. I will gladly pay 10 cents more for a tomato or onion or head of lettuce, that's a lot less than I'm paying now in increased property taxes. Demand that Fox seal his side of the border instead of dumping his excess poor into my country. Will Bush do any of this? No.

Will John Kerry do any of this either?

Will John Kerry do anything else you want?

Don't bother giving me the "send a message" nonsense. I don't buy it.

---Well ... I wouldn't be writing any of my congress-critters on this issue.---

Gee, why didn't I think of that? ;)

From what I read, they've been getting an earful from more than just me.

But repetition is necessary, their collective memories seem to suffer under that big domed building.

Judging from the tone of all your posts, you are doing all you can to make certain that President Bush is not reelected.

Under the Bush-bashing headline news and unflattering photo of him they have a poll asking;

"Do you think John Kerry has what it takes to defeat President George W. Bush?"

Yes 30%
No 49%
Maybe 3%

Total Voters: 11273

Well now, maybe the liberal media cheer-leading Kerry isn't brainwashing everybody after all.

The Democratic base did not turn out in 2002, despite the recession, and our base did. We held the House and recaptured the Senate... pretty extraordinary stuff.

I agree only I will not leave the base because the alternative is much, much worse. The libs think they are the mainstream and they are in for another big loss. The polls are basically useless. One last week that had Kerry ahead used 47% Dem's in their sample. Also as one of the 95% who are employed I say the economy is coming along OK. If we want to see the economy go south elect Kerry and watch taxes go up on business.

Kerry sewing up the nomination, he now got to survive 7-9 months of constant bombarding of ads and the negative press he will eventually get. I have said it once before everyone in the country knows all they ever wanted to know about pres Bush. When they start hearing more and more about Kerry's past and current views, it may well be a blowout by the President

Please let me know when the media actually starts being negative on Kerry. All I see/hear is orgasms over him, including (and especially) FoxNews.

"TR" stands for Teddy Roosevelt. Please don't confuse me. A minor point to some, but not to me.

Here's some real "TR" for you - Teddy Roosevelt speaking about the need for "social and industrial justice" and a "living wage." ;-)

The interview sucked. It was confined to two democrat talking points. WMD in Iraq and President Bush's National Guard service.

A tough and fair interview would have asked for positions on illegal immigration, abortion, homosexual "marriage" and the judiciary.

I agree with you 100% jwalsh!!!

As for the idiotic graphic Columbine, it is a desperate attempt to illustrate President Bush's mute voice about a real issue, illegal immigration.

I feel like I'm in this never ending week after week, month after month Star Trek Time Loop Episode called:

"The Iraqi WMD Issue"

WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue.WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue.WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue, WMD Issue.......

It's the same game different face.

I still believe there will be a WMD revelation connected to Syria.

Perhaps, if Syria has oil. If Syria doesn't, it was in league with Iraq.

Russert also asked Bush why the US does not do a "preemptive" strike Cuba and North Korea. The answer is simple. Cuba and No. Korea do not have an abundance of natural resources that they can sell on the world market and use the funds to purchase weapons. Also, Cuba and No. Korea are not located strategically in regards to the war on terrorism.

I sure wish Bush would have shoved Russert's stupid question back up his nose with that reply. Compassionately though.

I agree about that, but I don't think it was a good thing for Russert to be quite so confrontive and aggressive toward our President.

I don't think it hurt the President for Russert to behave that way. It may have hurt Russert in some quarters (such as FR).

Stu, I think you're far outnumbered here as far as opinion about President Bush's interview. Most of us believe he handled it quite well overall.

I'm so glad to hear that. I missed the interview but some of the comments in this thread made it sound like Bush was just awful.

I see.

It seemed more like something directly from MoveOn.org to me.

He has had me a bit concerned lately which is why I was so anxious to see this interview. Glad to hear your assessment of it though! What ever else he may be, I believe he is an honest man and would not deliberately mislead the American people. Thank for the heads up!
