It was fantastic, and I will be posting pictures of the event as soon as I have the time.
Orlean Koehle is President of the California Eagle Forum and sends out emails such as this one about the Conference Feb 4th.
NEWS & NOTES
February 13, 2004
'EQUIPPING FOR THE FUTURE' was the title of California Eagle
Forum's Third Annual State Conference in Santa Rosa. It was a
smashing success, thanks to the leadership of state president
Orlean Koehle. Emcee for the evening banquet was KSFO's Melanie Morgan, a
very popular San Francisco talk show host. About 230 Eagles and friends
attended from all over the state, including many Teen Eagles to hear
Phyllis's banquet address on "Feminism and Its Effect on our Nation." Her
speech was similar to her college lectures on feminist follies, but
Phyllis noted that, while the Eagle audience chuckled throughout her talk,
college audiences seldom laugh because the feminists have no sense of
humor. President Koehle presented many awards for specific accomplishments
to Eagles, teachers, and media.
The day-long seminar featured a remarkable series of meaty
presentations on important issues. Erin Anderson fascinated the
group with her first-hand account of life on her property on the
dangerous Arizona-Mexican border. A delegation from the
American-Middle-East-Christian Association, led by Steve Klein,
presented first-hand information on Islam. Phyllis also spoke during the
day on "Taking Back our Colleges from Liberal Bias" so that the large
number of Teen Eagles in attendance would be prepared to
protect themselves ideologically when they go to college.
Mark Matta, founder of Preserve Freedom.com, gave an important lecture on
our American biblical heritage and Eagle Jane Lesko came from Idaho to
speak on revisionist history in the schools. A most informative lecture
on the radical environmental movement called "Environmental
Misinformation" was delivered by David Stirling, an attorney with the
Pacific Legal Foundation and former California Deputy Attorney General.
David Krive, an exceptional 15-year-old homeschooled student who
has already graduated from high school and finished a paralegal
course, joined Tim Bueler, a 17-year-old Rancho Cotati High School junior at a
panel called "The Liberal Bias Being Taught in Schools Today and What
Students Can Do About It." Bueler is President of the Rancho Cotati
High Conservative Club and the nationally publicized student who
criticized the school for its anti-Christian bias and inflamed matters
by distributing a Conservative Club newsletter in which he wrote,
"Liberals welcome every Muhammad, Jamul and Jose who wishes to
leave his Third World state and come to America - mostly illegally - to
rip off our health-care system, balkanize our language and destroy our
political system." The statement was borrowed directly from the sayings
and writings of nationally syndicated San Francisco radio
host Michael Savage, whom Bueler credits for inspiration. The club's
motto, "Protecting our Borders, Language and Culture," is a Savage
slogan. The resulting political turmoil provoked a letter of protest
from 40 school officials, including the nurse and Principal Carter, has
tested theFirst Amendment tethers of this bedroom community. (LA
Times, 1-26-04).
Eagle Forum Director of Sacramento, Georgiana Preskar, discussed
the mind control techniques used to program teachers and students
into accepting liberal agendas called "Seeds of Destruction."
Georgiana is writing a book about her personal experiences and
research.
Sharon Hughes, Northern California Program Director and Talk Show Host for
KDIA Radio "Changing World Views" spoke on the latest extremes in
bioengineering and showed a power point presentation about the "breakdown"
of our American society today.
"Abortion and Its Devastating Affect on Our Nation" was discussed
by Justine Kyker, Heidi Swanson and Jonathan Krive. Justine and
Heidi spoke personally about the terrible effects of abortion and are
now affiliated with a national group called "Silent No More." Jonathan
is 17 and president of the Sonoma County Teen Eagles and a
national debate winner, who has presented a winning debate on the
topic of abortion.
Bravo to Orlean Koehle and the California Eagles for putting on such an
outstanding conference!
