I just looked it up online. The one copy, at the Mid-Manhattan library, was due on 1/29/04. It has not been returned. I think you're right to worry that the copy has disappeared for good.

The book got a strong reaction from my dad(who wasn't going to vote for Kerry no matter what) who was over in Nam.

The pictures are the biggest thing with the book. There's one of Ramsey Clark in there, as well as the medals pic. The most damning thing against him is the cover.

John Kerry himself wrote the introduction and the epilogue. The intro has been posted here since it was his congressional statement. The Epilogue has a lot of political speech, but I really couldn't find much really damning stuff offhand besides this.
