This is not the way I wanted to see things happen, but we may be nearing a tipping point with Cheney. There is nothing of substance to the charges against him, but a meme is a meme and we may be nearing that point where he becomes a drag on the ticket.
It is a good thing that Bush has Rice in reserve. Indeedy, I wouldn't be surprised if he has Condi in the on-deck circle.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

I know what you're saying, but I believe the perceived betrayal of loyalty involved in dumping Cheney, who has been a "good and faithful servant" in this administration, and loss of solid conservative support, would far outweigh the benefits of what would be widely pounced on and portrayed by the snakes on the left to be pandering.
Part of my support for President Bush is based on his loyalty and moral compass for doing the right thing, as well his ability to put together a totally kick-*ss team that is functioning smoothly. A shake-up now would be widely perceived by the right (and middle) as instability, and gleefully perceived by the looney left as an admission of weakness. This is NOT a president who sticks his finger in the wind to find his running mate, and we are that much the luckier for it.
Besides, don't you want to see a Cheney/Edwards debate, or a Cheney/Kerry debate, or even a Cheney/Shrillary debate? I'd pull out the popcorn for any of those, LOL!
All that aside for this election cycle, Condi is deservedly one of our party's shining stars. What an incredible person she is! She IS the right stuff. . .just not now. We need her to fill our bench, to prepare against the shrill one.
