Until judges and defense lawyers start getting raped I guess nothing will get done.While I agree per violent crimes, I do not agree we should be harsher -- or even as harsh as we are now -- about nonviolent crimes. This man had a misdemeanor battery and a felony drug possession. What's wrong with that picture?
I'm a recovering addict myself. I was charged with drug possession. It definitely set me back on the road to recovery, and G-d saw fit to see that ALL charges were completely DROPPED. It was wonderful that it happened, it straightened me out. But would it have benefitted society to see me a felon?

How many more children are going to die before we start imposing tougher prison sentences for those who break the law? Obviously you don't get it. Organizations such as the ACLU and Amnesty International, and individuals as Barbara Boxer don't give a rat's ass about children.
It is only when they are stopped will we see some real laws protecting children in this country.
