His case, unfortunately, is nothing out of the ordinary. Lots of time when criminals violate probation, if it's small, the probation officer won't even pursue it, i.e., file the affidavit of violation. When the probation officer does do so, many times the judges just put them back on probation. While I agree about the fact the judge should shoulder part of the blame, I blame much, much more the idiot jury who acquitted him AFTER hearing testimony from the victim about how he grabbed her and threatened her. And (at least according to media reports) they acquitted him based on a theory that she misunderstood and he was just trying to save her from stepping out on the street. I hope those jurors feel like hell and feel guilty as hell. They are.
