I heard on Fox that they did not put out an Amber Alert for nearly 24 hours because she was considered a run away... I am sure that the video helped encourage the search, but that was still after she was declared missing.

I agreed with Mr. Klaas that we should stop just assuming that 11 yo girls are runaways.
