I'll tell ya what though, while it is TRUE that Dole fared poorly with conservatives, another major factor that led to Dole's defeat was that many left-leaning republicans (like you) voted for Clinton because they liked the way their 401K s were performing. Of couse Dole has the distinction of running an even worse campaign than Bush I--which is quite a feat.
