What's self-explanatory? The fact that you are happy to have an opinion, but can't/won't/haven't shown any evidence to back it up?

BTW, I USED to be an acoholic. Why was I an alcoholic? Because I drank to excess, routinely, and uncontrollably, to the extreme detriment of my health, safety and those around me.

I am NOT an alcoholic any more. Why? Becuase I no longer drink alcohol at all, don't want to, aren't tempted to, can comfortably refuse alcohol, can stay in a house with alcohol in it and not worry about it, etc.

Drinking alcohol to one's detriment is a choice. Some people have a harder time making the right choice, some have an easy time. I used to always make the wrong choice, now I always make the right choice.

Similarly, everyone has a choice about whether to gratify their sexual impulse with a member of the opposite sex or a member of the same sex. It's an easy decision for some of us, and a harder choice for others. But it is always a choice, and it is documented that people who are attracted to members of the same sex can often change their orientation, if they want to.

You can not believe that if you don't want to, but the facts are on my side.

A true non-alchoholic can have a cocktail at a party and then leave it alone. Can you? Can you drink socially?

1. If you are a "former alcoholic" as you say, then you would be able to drink normally and responsibly wouldn't you?..Have a few drinks and no problem. But you don't. You totally abtain from alcohol. Why?..because you are an alcoholic. It is an addiction. And the only way to beat an addiction is to totally abstain from the substance that you are addicted to. An addict who abstains from is still an addict. The are a sober addict. They know that if they use again their life will go into turmoil. That is why you totally abstain despite your assurances that you are a" former alcoholic." A sober alcoholic is a person of great character and power. They have been through the fires. The most important part to them to recognize is the truth. Paramount among those truths is that they cannot ever use alcohol under any circumstances. Why?..because they are recovered alcoholics.
