It's a representative government and I think you sometimes forget that.

If every GOP member of Congress acted like the conservative you, and probably I, wanted tomorrow - they'd lose elections.

If Bush wins in 2004 and another Republican wins in 2008 and they hold Congress, then I think we'll see improvement over time. It takes time to deprogram people.

We all complain how the liberals have changed things oh-so-slowly over the last century, but that is how they get away with it. You can boil the frog whole if you turn up the heat slowly. We've all heard about "creeping socialism"

If we want to undo that damage, we will have to have an equally long-term outlook.
