Danny Gatton

Tribute to one of the greatest Tele players the world has ever known.

If you have never heard "Redneck Jazz Explosion" from Danny Gatton, than you don't know what you are missing.

They didn't call him the greatest unknown guitarist for nothing. Tragically, he killed himself in the mid 90's.

Imo Gatton was the best Tele player ever. Have you ever seen his "Telemaster" instructional video? His opening jam is the most jaw-dropping bit of guitar work I've ever seen/heard. .....worth the price of the DVD by itself. He effortlessly combined blues, jazz, and country like no one else.

There was an amazing video on YouTube of Gatton, Albert Lee, and Vince Gill trading solos on Rodney Crowell's song "One Way Rider." (Unfortunately it's now gone). Guitar pickin' heaven.
