Some researchers believe the 14th changed our status as free born Americans within a constituional republic into one of being a "federal or statutory" citizen to be used as chattel or collateral as the DC corp. emerged from bankruptcy in the 30's. Federal citizens do not have God given const. rights, instead they have "civil rights" as designated or decreed by the fedgov.

Rather than some "researchers" I think you might mean "some quacks on the fringe believe...."

We have been federal citizens since the Constitution was ratified. It was designed to operate upon individuals not merely states. One does not become a citizen of a state unless one is an American. Citizenship is granted immigrants ONLY by the federal government not states.
