Ok, I´ll be blunt. I believe the WMD claims made in the UN etc. just before the war was false (intelligence failure etc. does not matter - I have stated that the result of the war is positive).

Concerning the programs, WMDs; who can claim that Iraq did not have a programme after Halabja and the Iran war? or remains from that period?

But, the empty rusty shells etc. found the other week turned out to be old ones from that particular period. Saddam was a dictator but he never fired one scud armed with WMD against Israel or the Coalition in either of the wars, this is not incidental, he knew he would be nuked if he did.

Then the lying part, and maybe thats the crux of the matter. No one wants to step up and say hey we were wrong, but ... just because it will open up for people shouting liar liar...

My point since the beginning has been that painting yourself into a corner with the WMD argument only increases this risk.

About the burden of proof, yes that was put on the Iraqies by the UN and were they forthcoming? No one knows because that line was never followed through properly(earlier post).

How can that "aiken to saying that for the period of time that we could not find him, saddam hussein did not exist. Moreover, to this day, bin laden does not exist because we have not found him."?

To quote Blix:

"The noble art of losing face will one day save the human race"

I have called no one a "lefty" [in this thread], I simply asked you what your take was on it.

You didn't ask, but who besides Euro-weenies gives a hoot what a Norwegian Ph.D holder says.

When the United States needs help are the Nords going to give it? How about the Swedes?

You people sit in your ivory houses in relative safety , and complain that the USA is this, the USA does that, while the UN, a most corrupt and usless world body, aids and abets thieves, gangsters and dictators around the world.

The United Nations, like the Democratic Party [U.S.] is a criminal enterprise

Personally, I don't give a tinker's damn whether we find WMD's in Iraq. We may not. He had YEARS to hide them and allies in Syria who were more than willing to be his accomplice. Saddam was encouraging terrorists and sending money to the Palestinian murderers' families in Gaza.

The only people who are pissed at the US for freeing the Iraqi people are those who were being enriched by Saddam's rape of the country (read that the Baath Party, France, Germany, and various crooked businessmen), terrorists who were being finance by him, and the Eurotrash who wouldn't be able to identify evil if a Nazi shot their mother in the head.

We don't need to seek the permission of the mealy mouthed, limp wristed, Saddam loving, socialist useful idiots in Europe before we do what is right. Hell, the German Luftwaffe trains in the US because they can't even fly over their own country for fear of offending some panty waisted punk!

Like it or not, we don't need Europe anymore. The U.S. bases in Germany should be abandoned and let them fend for themselves.

War was not waged because the inspectors did not find WMD, it was because they were not allowed to look. Iraq had agreed to an inspection program. They continually hampered the inspections and, indeed, were hiding weapons programs.

When a party agrees to a cessation of hostilities; i.e., the first Iraq war, then abrogates the terms of that agreement. They are inviting the resumption of warfare. Legally, the current Iraq war was the proper conclusion of the prior conflict.
