Boston Globe, 6/16/2003: .........Along with Kerry's unquestionable and repeated bravery, he also took an action that has received far less notice: He requested and was granted a transfer out of Vietnam six months before his combat tour was slated to end on the grounds that he had earned three Purple Hearts. None of his wounds was disabling; he said one cost him two days of service and the other two did not lead to any absence. .........The bottom line is that Kerry could have remained but he chose to seek an early transfer.

THIS is what the repubs need to counter with. OK, if terms of service are an issue, people need to know Kerry got out of combat after justa few months, proceeded then to leave the military early to run for office. AND if what they each did SINCE serving matters, Kerry threw medals away AND called his fellow servicemen WAR CRIMINALS -- without justification. He left his fellow soldiers behind and then defamed them.

I'd like to know what Kerry was doing in the cushy job once at the Admiral's office after he left Nam. Was he anti-war then? was he toeing the line? Was his war criminal gig a political opportunity he exploited only after he got out?

Kerry is a left wing ass. This isn't about how he behaved for a few months in Nam. it's about protecting all of us and our kids. As far as I'm concerned, if he had any common sense he left it in Nam.
