Someone mentioned a while back that the Heinz company donated to the Republicans. Not sure the amount or election cycle. Perhaps its a holdover from the first Mr. Heinz. Someone should check the donations list on the FEC. I also know a lot of companies donate to both parties.

Her husband was the Heinz heir, and he was a GOP senator. She inherited from him. Much like Ray Kroc's widow did, and despite him having been conservative, she gave $1 million to the DNC.
The issue here is the Heinz organization may still be conservative. We don't know. And another poster pointed out she may no longer own any stock. She may have liquidated it and put cash in the trust. We don't know.
The corporation could be asked.

A while back everyone here was going crazy when it was revealed Joan Kroc had left $200 million to NPR in her will. Boycotts of Mcdonalds were the standard call. A later thread revealed she had also left $1.5 billion to the Salvation Army.
