Keeping opinion out of the story too often means being a fancy stenographer." I disagree totally. A reporter shouldn't be fancy.

Brit Hume is probably the best journalist on television today, and would have no problem doing Brokaw, Jennings', or Rather's jobs without a hint of spin. The man is brilliant, likable, honest, and presents the news in a balanced way without erecting strawmen. God, even Bill Clinton thought Brit was the best.

If you were from the same school I was, then you were at least a competent stenographer. And rather proud of the accomplishment.

quietly resigned from the board of the foundation three weeks ago English Translation: For three weeks, no one noticed that she had quit, so she issued a press release.

Geneva Overholser, former ombudsman of The Washington Post, has resigned from the board of the National Press Foundation because it plans to honor Fox News anchor Brit Hume at its annual dinner in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 19.
As one of your dem/libs John Kerry likes to say:
DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT MS. OVERHOLSER. :)
To: IronJack
Alex: "For $200, and the answer is, 'Geneva Overholser.'"
Jeopardy contestant: "Who was the obscure, journalistic apparatchik who achieved five minutes of fame through accusing the premier TV journalist of his time, Brit Hume, of being 'ideologically connected'?"

It is that legacy we must protect with our diligent stewardship. To do so means we must be aware of the energetic effort that is now underway to convince our readers that we are ideologues. It is an exercise of, in disinformation, of alarming proportions, this attempt to convince the audience of the worlds most ideology-free newspapers that theyre being subjected to agenda-driven news reflecting a liberal bias. I dont believe our viewers and readers will be, in the long-run, misled by those who advocate biased journalism. Big fat liar!

We try not to ever miss Brit Hume. We remember him when he was a young journalist back in the days of JFK. John F. Kennedy... NOT John F. Kerry. Ha,ha. But I digress. We remember Brit as responsible, honest and forthright back then as a youngster and he is the same today. The only thing different is he has gotten even more responsible, honest and forthright with time and he does one heckuva show. She could only hope to find somone better than Brit Hume. So, all I can say to Ms. overholster is: "Adios to sour grapes."
To: FlyLow
If Cokie Roberts and Ed Bradley got it before, Brit should tell them to shove it.
To: cubreporter
God, I would never have known he was such a mainstay.
The Best, I tell you. Watch him with, well, Susan Estrich is on now. I've read her books and have watched her on other networks, and she's never so honest or likeable as she is when she's on with Brit. Brit simply brings out the best in people.
