I understand but I would attribute that to dumb luck.... I do not put him in the same category as Stockdale, McCain, Cleland, or others but you can not say he was not in harm's way.... And I would think the real discussion might be something like, "Did he suffer from combat fatigue or PTSD?" One then has to concede that he was in combat... I think if Duke Cunningham and many others and I can't criticize them if they endured a baptism of fire... Even if it was a small fire...

That doesn't matter...he has the three Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He technically qualifies to be called a hero and he is shameless enough to wrap himself in that mantle.

The American people are going to honor his service in Viet Nam no matter what...his traitorous activity after the war is the card we need to play. Over and over and over. His activity after the war was despicable and unforgivable.
