Here is another article relating to this

http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/17080.htm

February 2, 2004 -- CHARLESTON, S.C. - Democratic front-runner John Kerry had closer personal contact than he's ever acknowledged with fat cat Johnny Chung, who gave him illegal campaign cash during the Bill Clinton funny-money scandals, it was reported yesterday.

There's proof that Kerry met Chung weeks earlier than he has claimed - and it's in Kerry's own hand in a "Dear Johnny" note that refers to the meeting and thanks Chung for being "on my team," Newsweek reported.

Chung pleaded guilty to funneling $10,000 to Kerry and $18,000 to Clinton's 1996 reelection on orders from Chinese intelligence.

Kerry returned the money, and there's no suggestion he knew it was illegal; the issue is whether he told the truth when he was doing damage control and trying to distance himself from Chung.

Chung came to Kerry's office in July 1996 to seek help in getting a Chinese official in to see a Securities and Exchange Commission official, and within a week, Kerry's staff wrote Chung asking him to host a Sept. 9 fund-raiser.

Kerry has claimed he never met Chung until that Sept. 9 fund-raiser but the "Dear Johnny" note is dated July 31 and says: "It was a great pleasure to have met you last week."

Kerry yesterday called it "old news" and claimed the "Dear Johnny" note was routine in fund-raising, adding, "I have no recollection of it at all."

The report came a day after the revelation that Kerry - who is railing against "special interests" - holds the Senate record for taking campaign cash from lobbyists.

Another NewsMax gem!

This is like shouting in a forest. This "news" is meaningless unless covered by the major networks or newspapers. Given that it has not, and won't be, it signifies NOTHING.
