Wishful thinking? Maybe. There is certainly a general distaste among conservatives right now. I can feel it. Hell, I've had a Bush/Cheney sticker on my car since 2000 and have been contemplating taking it off. I hope things change.

It's this kind of Rush monologue that sets him apart from the Hannity diatribes. There's a plot....a theme....some thought behind it. Synthesis of personal info and topical articles.
This is why libs fear Rush.

I've always wondered. Is this all Rush or does he have writers? If he does, it's a pretty closely held secret. But one man can't produce all this by himself can he?

Great rant, Mr Rush! And Bush will come around before long, I guarantee it! Expect Bush to respond to the Republican/conservative crowds as the campaign ramps up just as he answered the call when the country was in dire need after the attack on America. We need a conservative in the White House as surely as the country needed a great war-time leader after 9/11. George W. Bush is the man!

Bush has increased domestic spending? No way! Look at the percentage v. GDP!

There's no need for "the media" to "turn against Bush, and conspire to keep him from re-election" in '04.
Not so long as there are enough noisy "loyal Republicans" willing to carry the left's water, and do the job for them.

If you look how far the left has been pushed in the past year, what Rush is predicting here might be part of what Rush said he was told by a "Senior" in the Bush Camp.
With Kerry as the Dem nominee, it would open up a huge path for firing up the base and moving back to the right. The Bush camp has been making fools of the democrats for three years now and I can't see how they would screw it up now

I think there's a "stack-of-stuff" outline that he uses. But it's pretty clear from the breaks and the backtracks that it's off-the-cuff. I think he mulls these ideas and maybe bounces them off of high level in-the-knowites, but when it comes down to delivery, I think he's just flinging from the hip. For example:
... I have nothing against grassroots. I think grassroots is where it all happens, don't misunderstand. I understand the necessary evils of voter registration. Not "evils," but the necessity of voter registration and getting as deep in the grassroots as you can to get interest and so forth, and I'm all for it....
That's not a script. You can't deliver that from a script without being a better actor than most of the top hackers in Hollyweird.

Rush also predicted the the hildebeast would never win the Senatorial race in NY. I like the guy a lot but he is no prognosticator in elections.

Hell, I've had a Bush/Cheney sticker on my car since 2000 and have been contemplating taking it off... You have my permission to take it off IF and only if you allow me to send you a Bush/Cheney 2004 sticker replacement. OK? ;-)

I think everyone, the press included that are misunderestimating the effects of the daily, monthly, hourly media attacks on GW.
"If you tell a lie often enough it will be believed"??????????????
Who said that, Lenin?
By itself, that fact will have a huge effect, that won't show up until later in the year, unrepairable by then.

Well, he's absolutely right. It's all very well to have a huge plan to get local workers out there and get every Republican to the polls. But it would be a hell of a lot easier if Bush would stop offending his base. Why one EARTH is he coming up with some of these proposals? He is basically sound, but I think Karl Rove or other advisers are making a big mistake here. More useless AIDS funding?
An increase in spending for the NEA? NO efforts to cut wasteful spending anywhere? More and more spending on education at the national level but no vouchers? Bush is still the best president we've had since Reagan, but he is undermining himself with this nonsense. And he's not doing it because he's indistinguishable from the Democrats. He's doing it because some jerk of an advisor has told him it will gain him more votes. Wrong.

Then who will you vote for or will you vote at all? If you go either way, chances are your vote or lack of one, will help the RATS. That is not wise!
