Janet Apologizes, Says Super Bowl Stunt Went Too Far
One day after Janet Jackson's shocking Super Bowl halftime performance, the singer took responsibility for the breast-baring incident and said she never intended the stunt to go as far as it did.
"The decision to have a costume reveal at the end of my halftime show performance was made after final rehearsals," Jackson said in a statement released Monday (February 2). "MTV was completely unaware of it. It was not my intention that it go as far as it did. I apologize to anyone offended including the audience, MTV, CBS and the NFL."
Jackson's performance shocked onlookers when Justin Timberlake who was performing with her pulled off a piece of Jackson's costume, revealing her right breast.
MTV, which produced the halftime show for CBS, issued an apology shortly after the show, calling the incident "unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and ... inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance" (see "Janet, Justin, MTV Apologize For Super Bowl Flash").
Timberlake also apologized on Sunday, calling the incident "not intentional and regrettable."
On Sunday, Jackson's reps told MTV News that the singer apologized for the move, but the singer issued no public statement on the incident until Monday.

You mean "wardrobe malfunction" in the crotch area of Timberlake? Yikes. No thanks. Did I say crotch? Oh, no! I just meant, you know, a shoulder or something. What kind of girl do you think I am, anyway??!!

What she said was: "It was not my intention that it go as far as it did."
She obviously did intend that it happen as it did. She's lying and evidently has you fooled.

LOL
A little off-topic, but I asked before if any women (girls?) found Justin Timberlake attractive, why?
He looks like any other dork you would see up at the mall.
Anybody?

"The only thing Janet Jackson is sorry about is that her stunt went over like the Hindenberg!"Heard by a reporter on the scene: "Oh, the huge mammary!"

I fail to see the appeal of that boy. Regardless of age, he looks (and acts) very immature.

I like MEN that are clean shaven and 35-10 haircut. That is sexy. Timberlake is so Jr. High.

Is that a crime? Is it? Where's my lawyer?!

Allow me to introduce myself...LOL
Seriously, what is a 35-10 haircut? Maybe I should run out and get one, if the women like it. :-)

Yes, I do know that people wear an array of clips, pins, clamps, etc. and whatever else one can dream up, but it is most likely intended to be viewed - after all you have seen it, right? Well, it seems probable that it was for her audience. I think something like that is worn for its visual interest, not for..........

Until yesterday, I never heard of Justin Timberlake, and I'll bet Paul Tagliabue hadn't either. I knew there was such a thing as Janet Jackson, but I've never seen her perform, and if I've ever heard one of her songs, I don't remember it. I have no idea what's in the contract language, but if there's a hook for the NFL to sue CBS over this, I'll bet they do it, just so it's real clear that they did not want this, and that they'll sue the next guy too, if it ever happens again.
Just because you're out of the loop when it comes to pop culture, it doesn't mean the NFL is.
The NFL knew exactly what they were getting when they allowed MTV to put on the half-time show.
For CBS, MTV or the NFL to now feign shock and outrage is specious on it's face.
The whole thing is laughable.

"But we're Hollywood Stars they're allowed to do such off color things." Self justification from Babsie, Sheen, Sean Penn, etal and the encouragement/protection of the Dems.

Fifty years from now will you be airing acts of bestiality during primetime? Yes, but only within lawful wedlock.
