Members hug after the prayer service of the Eid ul-Adha, a Muslim holy day.

Those expecting prayer got a dose of politics as well Sunday morning as thousands of Muslims gathered downtown for one of their largest holiday celebrations of the year.

Sadiq said. He cited the use of secret evidence and prolonged detention that focuses almost exclusively on Muslims.

Who is Muslim-Americans I would like to know?

I'd like to know, too.

I don't know why these people think that they are so special. During WW2, thousands of Japanese, Germans, and Italians were locked up. Thats who we were fighting at the time. Now we're fighting Muslims so now we have to keep an eye on them. What Muslim country wouldn't do the same?

I know why the Dems want a high immigration rate without reading your aricle. I will read it. The Democrats have a vested interest in keeping the poor, well, err, poor.

The illiterate immigrants do not know the politics and see the Democrats as the "Party of The People", the "Party for the Poor". They are correct, the more poor people, the more Democrats. Eventually, they wake up and realize the Democrats keep them poor to keep themselves in power. Just as the Republicans want Hispanic votes from a massive swamp of the border to put them in power. The Reps want to be Mr. Nice, you know, "compassionate".

It is time WE held the Parties accountable. They represent US, not their PARTY and their lining their pockets. (They all have both hands in our pockets and a big smile on their face.)

Great point. Don't forget, Mexico was PRO NAZI! So we agree on both issues now.

Weesley Clark senses the illegal problem, his lights are on

Not that I don't believe you but I am kind of a doubting Thomas when it come to the elites of the Democratic Party having their lights on when it comes to illegal immigration. I thought I heard Clark say that President Bush's plan doesn't go far enough. Maybe you could provide a link to his illegal immigration policy.

This is as good a reason as I have found to vote for Bush.
I feel that Bush has leaned too far toward the paths of the Muslims, who wish to destroy the USA. They are far more destructive than the Commnunists ever were. The Communists never killed 3,000 Americans in a day on their own soil.

From what I've read in another thread, Oberweis isn't the only canidate for Illinois Senate that opposes GWB's amnesty proposal. Out of seven canidates running, 4 oppose it.

It will be interesting to see how our neighbors across the Mississippi River vote this Nov.

I read what you read on Weesley. I think there is a bunch of posts in the Freerep. His plan recognizes the illegal problem but weasels out of an effective solution. Cluck just rewords Bush's plan. See, the Dems want the "guest workers" as Dems. Vote Republican for Congress and leave the President ticker open, unless Pat Buchanan or some one you like runs. This way, neither party screws us for 4 years and they start to remember who they represent. Remember those perks (graft,I call it)depend on their being elected.

Time to realize the Dems have an abortion plank in their party even though most Dems are only "politically" for it. Very similar to the Reps having am unAmerican Guest Worker plank. Take the good with the bad attutude.

Time to stop them is NOW!

The power to stop this now lays in the Congress. This is where the battle will be fought. This is where we should concentrate our efforts.

The only way Bush is going to get the Muslim vote is by giving up the War On Terror. These people are, after all, fellow-travelers of the other side, in fact if not in deed.

We never used to let avowed Communists immigrate into this country. Why do we let avowed Muslims, who have as nefarious an allegiance to an alien and anti-Consitutional power as Communists ever did?

There was a church service:

Luqman Sadiq, 23, of south St. Louis County, passed out campaign literature about Howard Dean as people exited the ballroom.

Is there some sort of 501(c)3 violation here?

We don't let them travel here. The Government does with or without visas, legal or illegal. The Parties in Power are the ones with their hands on the reins. So it is the Democratic or Republican Parties that want certain people in. The Democrats are ecuminical, they will let everyone in - but they want to be the ones to do it in order to get the votes. Unfortunately, the Republicans don't want to serve just Americans. They want to serve Americans and certain Guest Workers, so they can stay in power and implement their platforms. As the Dems want Socialism, so too the Reps want a business oriented society - at least it pays the bills... for now.

Outrageous that the Muslims say this land is theirs. The Mexicans say that the southwest belongs to them. Doesn't leave much land for us ordinary Americans, does it?

Now if Christian churches are not allowed to engage in political activity without fear of losing their tax exempt status, why are the Muslims immune from that same law?

They aren't. Muslims have no more rights that protestants.
Their mosque should lose it's tax exempt status. Who has the gumption to press the charges?
