Our church (very large in Scottsdale, AZ) is planning to rent out the Cine Capri for 1 showing and possibly more - for the size of our church the tickets will sell in less than 1 service at church....I ordered up 200 door hangers and 5 posters to place strategically in places near our neighborhood! It's about time JESUS got RECOGNIZED for WHO HE REALLY IS and that IS AS LORD AND SAVIOR!

Gf I and II are masterfully told stories with marvelous performances. While ostensibly about the Corleone family (a gang) it is really about history, politics and interpersonal relations.

I love mafia movies but Gf I and II are a cut above any of the others. It, like LotR, can be stopped at just about any scene and one is struck by the visual impact. Then there is the dialogue which is superb and memorable. Even the music is great. It is violent and bloody but that does not stop it from being terrific.

Put that movie at the top of your to-see list for it is truly one of the greatest ever made. And this is not just my opinion.

Great screenplay, great direction, great music, great cinemaphotography, and outstanding performances from great actors (Pacino, Brando, Keaton, DeNiro, Caan, Duvall among others.)

That would be fun. Or "Footfall." Or "The Mote in God's Eye," for that matter -- I'd love to see the "museum."

Phil Tippett was supposed to make his directing debut on the Ringworld film a couple of years ago, but it fell trhough, and Tippett wound up making his directorial debut on the upcoming Starship Troopers sequel.

I'd love it if some of Robert Sawyer's and Gregory Benford's novels were adapted to the big screen.

I am a major movie fan, and I'll ignore the stars politics if the make good art. I'm lucky enough to be in walking distance of the local revival house, and I rencently reveled in their Cary Grant festival, including a double-bill of Bringing up Baby and His Girl Friday, which several parents brought their children to see (and the kids LOVED Baby, but started to get a little tired in the middle of Friday)

Diner rocked! It's a shame about Mickey Rourke, he had SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but started spending too much time in France.

Makes me pissed that movie theatres no longer have the popcorn boxes with an adjustable flap. :-)

Look at how many movies are promoting interracial themes.

Other than prohibitions in the OT about mixing with gentiles, I can't find any passage in the bible that condemn interracial relationships, so this would not be much of an issue to me if it were true. The most recent movie that I saw that depicted an interracial relationship (Monster's Ball) was gross due to its gratuitous sex (and up close shots of Billy Bob Thornton). Jungle Fever, perhaps the most explicit film on the subject of interracial relationships, CONDEMNS such relationships from a black perspective.

You are right about homosexual themes. Remember, however, that a disproportionate number of those involved in film production, from the back office to the back lot to the perfomers themselves, are homosexual.

Mystic River was GREAT. Along with American Splendor, my favorite movie of the past year.

I was disappointed with Lost in Translation (too "touristy" for me). Bill Murray was OUTSTANDING though.

Bring back the Hayes Code! This will make movies better than ever. You don't have to scrap Valenti's ratings system, but simply advertise some movies as adhering to the code.

Which movies are better, those from 1930-1968 produced under the code or those from 1968-2004 produced under Valenti's voluntary ratings system?

"The year got off to a frigid start as the national box office in January registered an anemic $628.8 million - the lowest gross in the past four years."

Hope next years financials are much bleaker. Six hundred million is still a huge amount of money - much too much for a bunch of anti-American satin worshippers. But, I'll take whatever bad news out of Hollywood I can get...

I still think that Ahnold Schwartze-negro is one of the worst actors of all time, although I did enjoy Predator (when will Carl Weathers run for office?) and True Lies.

5) No one wants to pay 10 bucks and still see 6-7 commercials before the movie

Boy, does this one irk me! The few times I do go to a movie (matinee only, I'm not paying those night-time prices), we have to sit there watching commercials. Talk about a captive audience.

I agree, I don't condemn them. But I do not mean to suggest that it is a sin. But I still object to interracial relationships being presented as the norm.

I do think interracial relastionships have more strains than other relationships and the children of those have additional challenges to overcome. That doesn't make it a sin.

I object to media's constant preaching to us that interracial relationships ought to be the norm. They are hung up on it and I find it annoying.
