I'd be willing to bet that the referee ad was rated much higher by men than by women, if my wife's reaction to my howls was any indication.
Most of commercials and the halftime show were needlessly crude and tasteless. Interesting that this is the image the advertisers and MTV wanted to portray to one of the largest viewing audiences available. Paying millions of dollars to broadcast messages on nudity, male impotency, beastiality, crotch humor and scatology in primetime shows how low the networks and advertizers have fallen.
