Actually, as I stroll around Manhattan I see all these sports clubs with hundreds of people jogging away on treadmills, peddling stationary bicycles, and the like. Why not hook them up to generators? It would beat gerbil wheels all hollow. You might almost get enough power to light up the room where these activities were going on.
