The Free Republic Network was invited to speak at CPAC this year on the topic of online activism, so our Executive Director stepped up to the plate. Bob did an admirable job and had more than 1,000 attendees listening with both ears, including a gaggle of easily-bored college kids sitting near me...

This was one of the panel sessions I had most looked forward to attending - and it was well worth it.
Bob did a bang up job of telling it like it is!!!!!!!

Great speech, and great reminder by the Executive Director, not to always be seeking credit for what you contribute. When you see somebody grabbing the credit for what you actually did, or helped with, it's probably a good idea to just keep quiet about it and don't let the ego start working overtime. Nick Danger is a good exemplar of this philosophy--100% capable and 100% modest. His speech was the highlight of CPAC for me.

Thanks for posting this, Scottso.
As usual, Darlie & I couldn't break away from our 0cents.com booth and unfortunately missed Bob's speech.
Moveon.org sponsored a candidate against Mark Foley, US Congressman (West Palm Beach, FL) back in 2002. The Palm Beach Post gave the candidate front page, above the fold coverage.
The URL for moveon.org was printed 9 times in the article!
I made a formal complaint to the editor as they steadfastly refused to print FreeRepublic.com time & time again when we would do some type of activism in they readership area. They would always refer to us as a "conservative web site".
Oh, never received a response...why am I not surprised?
