Thanks . . . Never heard of that filter trick. I'll have to try it some time, lol. It's not exactly rocket science. :)

non linear video editing is a hoot compared to the old analog ways that you had to run. Actually, I started out doing physical editing.. and went through the whole progression to non-linear. The first time I had to make a change in the middle of a show and didn't have to completely rebuild every thing after it was an almost life-altering experience.
The tech side of TV was a lot harder then, but we managed to get by, helped, in large part, by the fact that the speed of light was only 65mph back in those days. :-)

You can see the great impact of having such a close academic affiliation with Cal Tech. The JPL mission control is showing an affinity for scientific discussion that JSC lacks.
It's great that the rest of NASA is seeing the way academia and a lab should be interacting.

The F4 .. The workhorse of the Vietnam war, I think it was called. Or was it the flying tank?
Raw power and a load of ordnance carrying capability

17 thousand lbs thrust per engine (GE-79J) Proof a barn door will fly given enough power. :-)

Missed it! Just downloaded Real Player and am now watching NASA TV through the NASA website. Must say, everybody looks happy, so everything must be okay, despite the delay.

We used IBM-360's to process the telemetry. :-) That's my box!

JPL was a great place to work. :-) I loved the Cal Tech library.

In experimenting with RF controlled aircraft, I found that sufficient thrust can overcome a fractured horizontal stabilizer. On the other hand, I was not successful in turning the vehicle very well. LOL
But, the thrust was great and it flew really straight!
I landed it by cutting power and watching the vehicle pull a stall and tumble from 50 feet into dirt.
LOL

I don't know, but I think they could do without the breathless kindergarten teacher commentator. At least she doesn't have her breathless co-anchor talking over the flightcom like they were on bounce-down.
Sheesh. NASA has to understand that the kids and the science classroom audience is asleep now.
There are actually some taxpaying adults watching.
