First lawyer meeting arranged for so-called enemy combatant

An American captured in Afghanistan in 2001 will meet his attorney for the first time next week, but it won't be a one-on-one private session.

Yaser Esam Hamdi has been held without charges or access to lawyers, like hundreds of other prisoners labeled so-called enemy combatants.

Given the location of that Navy (Marine Corps) brig, it's a real shame that he hasn't escaped.

The swamps of south-eastern South Carolina are notoriously inhospitable to enemy combatants.
