Just look at the CBO for Veterans expenditures as well as H.R. 2297 which is a $1 Billion bill for Veterans benefits.

Also, go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2004/hist.html and pull down "outlays by agency" and you can see the actual budgets per department as well as projected outlays.

I've been an investor since 1975. Not only are you correct (market is having a snit due to the Fed's omission of *considerable time* and GDP being under *expectations* by one-half of one percent), but the market has come too far, too fast. A 10% pull back over a moderate amount of time wouldn't be a huge deal, IMO.


Traders are sorta like the *pure conservatives* and they get to vote 5 days every week.

Also, have you noticed the sudden number of articles telling us the market is better under Dems, the market is less volatile under Dems and *people feel* the Dems are better for the economy?

We seem to have some pretty sophisticated poll watchers in this thread and there's something I've been wondering about that somebody may be able to answer. Polls have shown that a large majority of people believe that Bush will win re-election. How does this effect reelect numbers? I suspect that at this point people are more likely to support a challenger if they don't think he actually has a chance.
