President Bush feels Mexican trucks can meet U.S. safety guidelines and thinks allowing door-to-door deliveries will cut down on shipping costs and ultimately benefit consumers. To hell with what it does to truckers ..let them retrain in harvesting techniques.

I work in trucking and travel to the office on I-35 in central Texas every day. I'm amazed at the number of vital truck parts I see laying along side of the road. Drivelines, brake shoes, exhaust stacks, fan hubs, belts, etc. Not to mention a bunch of tire carcass's that never should have been recapped in the first place. The SOB (south of border) trucks are pretty easy to spot. Just look for a 10 year old ex-Swift, Werner, Hunt, CF rig with fluid leaking out or parts falling off. We need to inspect every single one of these BEFORE they ever cross the border.

But of course, Karl Rove keeps whispering, don't worry, you don't need that 8% to win re-election.

This is one place I differ with the President. I don't want Mexican trucks coming into the US at all. I have driven in Mexico & most of their trucks are AWFUL.

" In declining states the leadership intuitively choses the most harmful course of action." -A Great Historian 1888. Comment: Continuing the relentless drive to destroy America the politician seeks to put yet more Americans out of work. These B*stards will not be happy until every American is making $0.15/day.

"The Bush administration has already sent out enough American jobs outside of this country," said Teamsters spokesman Bret Caldwell. "It's time we stood up for good-paying, high-wage productive jobs in this country and kept them here." Translation: Keep those Mexican truckers in Mexico until they start paying their union dues to our union. Then we will be able to skim those Latinos just like we have been doing to American truckers.

I am a Bush supporter but quite honestly I am really confused about where he is going with this issue.

Rather than spending his time, and the Court's, on reversing THIS, why isn't he reversing the all the OTHER onerous Klintoon legislation.
