Bush did promise in the State of the Union Address that he was going to cut the federal budget deficit in half but I haven't seen much indications he is going in that direction.

You don't sound hopeful. Here I got all excited by that statement he made about cutting the deficit in half and making the tax cuts permanent. I'm getting afraid that what could happen is that the democrats will promise to cut the deficit, get into office and really hike up the taxes and end the tax cuts. That deficit is getting really out of hand.
