Proposition 57, the proposed $15 billion bond deal to pay off the state's deficit, will "get us back on our feet," Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger told 160 residents of an upscale retirement community here Thursday.

Saying the state's financial troubles are fixable, the new Republican governor urged voters approve the bonds and a companion measure, Proposition 58 -- a constitutional amendment that mandates balanced budgets and prohibits future borrowing.

"get us back on our feet," ... so the demRats can slip the noose around our necks and saddle us with more debt and tax hikes, imo.

nothing but "Props Props Props" on the horizon(because the majority parties are corrupt and will not work to save the state, but rather to enslave it)

"It will restore confidence in Wall Street that we mean business and we will no longer spend more money than we bring in," Schwarzenegger told an organized gathering of about 160 seniors.

How does floating the largest municipal bond issue in United States history "restore confidence" in anything but Sacramento's ability to Spend, Spend, Spend?

No on Proposition 55, 56, 57, 58!

Don't know if this got posted but the Governor is likely to lose support for his bond. He'd better hope his current efforts are successful to get the courts to approve Davis' app. 11 billion dollar bond plan.

Not only will giving drivers' licenses to ILLEGALS hurt the bond vote it will give an even bigger boost for son of Prop 187.

[begin excerpt]

[Schwarzenegger] said he is working "very hard" with Sen. Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, to come up with "a great bill" that would allow undocumented immigrants to obtain driver's licenses.

He blasted similar legislation signed last year by former Gov. Gray Davis and persuaded legislators to repeal the law immediately after taking office.

Schwarzenegger has said many times that once security and insurance issues can be resolved to his satisfaction he'd support a new bill, but his comments Tuesday were among his strongest on the prospect to date.

And he said he's not worried about opposition from fellow Republicans, many of whom threatened to ask voters to repeal the Davis-signed law if Schwarzenegger couldn't get the Legislature to do it.

"I'm talking to my Republican friends all the time about it and also to my Democratic friends," he said Tuesday. "We will do it."
