That post is beneath you. 499 posted on 01/29/2004 8:44:54 PM PST by Texasforever

You've already made your money, Tex, and God bless ya (we Calvinists have no objection to material success).

But nationwide in the USA, Median Household income is still around $40,000 a year (Heck, I'm a 28-year old Single, and I make more than that). A $500 Billion-dollar Bush Deficit, divided by 250 million tax-paying Americans and apportioned between a wife and three kids, is an extra $10,000 dollars of Debt per Family, per year!

Why don't YOU try living on a $40,000 USA Family Median Income, while the Bush Government stacks an extra $10,000 dollars, per year on top of your family's share of the National Debt??

Bush is trying to buy off the Liberals with $200 Billion Education Bills and $400 Billion Medicare Bills and fight a World Crusade against Islam all at the same time. There ain't no easy way to slice it -- this is FISCAL INSANITY.

Maybe it's "beneath me" to say so, but I'm gonna say it any way.

Historically, 'guns & butter' has never really worked. You can only succeed with one of them.

You had better redo the math, unless you are positing there are 5 taxpaying Americans per family. There are probably more like 100 million tax paying households (maybe as much as 150 million), which comes out to about $5,000 per tax paying household, max.

Oh yes, the 400 billion number is spend over 10 years. But yes, Bush is spending too much money. The issue is whether he is doing it to throw some red meat to the wolves, which if they catch him, and devour him, will then devour us all. Tricky issue.
